Oaklea Guest House - Policies.
Booking.
Bookings can be made via telephone, fax or E-Mail.
At the time of booking a valid debit /credit card number, expiry date and security code will be required. For customers without debit / credit cards, a cash or cheque deposit of 50% of the booking value will be required. No booking is deemed to be confirmed without debit / credit card details or the deposit payment received.
Please note that no debit is made to your card until it is presented for payment at the end of your stay.
A booking made with a debit / credit card does not have to be paid for using that particular card, any other valid card, cash or cheque is acceptable.
We do not accept American Express or Diners Cards.
Cancellation.
Regardless of the reason(s) for cancellation the following cancellation policy will apply.
- In the event of cancellation before a stay has commenced, 72 hours notice is required. For example if a stay is due to commence on a Monday, then notice must be received by 10.30 a.m. on the preceding Friday. Failure to give the required notice will incur a charge equivalent to 100% of the total booking value up to a maximum of 5 nights.
- In the event of cancellation once a stay has commenced a charge equivalent to 100% of the remaining nights left will be payable, up to a maximum of 5 nights after the day of notification.
- In the event that a guest fails to arrive on the specified date then a charge equivalent to 100% of the total booking value, without restriction, will apply.
- If reservations are altered without the required 72 hours notice (see 1. above) then a charge equivalent to 100% of the nights unused will be payable.
Check In / Check Out.

Earlier arrival to drop off luggage, and later collection of luggage after checkout is free of charge, but must be agreed with reception.
Retention of your room until 15.00, latest, on the day of departure may be available and carries a charge of 50% of the applicable room rate. This facility must be agreed with reception.
Smoking.
Oaklea Guest House operates a strict no smoking policy throughout the building in accordance with the law banning smoking in all indoor public places (The Smoke-free (Premises and Enforcement) Regulations 2006). Any guest disregarding the no smoking policy in the bedrooms will be liable for a £50.00 "room out of service" charge in addition to the daily room rate. We reserve the right to debit your credit or debit card if we discover the offence after you have checked out.
Children.
Children of age 3 or under stay free. Children of 14 years or over are charged as adults.
Pets.
Only well behaved dogs are welcome. We also request that they are kept off soft furnishings and not brought into the dining room.
Guide dogs are accepted unconditionally.
We regret that no other pets are welcome.
Parking.
Off street parking is available. Guests are reminded that parking in the Guest House car park is entirely at their own risk and that the management cannot accept any responsibility for any loss or damage incurred.
Miscellaneous.
Credit card details are held for security against any charges incurred that may result as a consequence of your stay at the Guest House.
